According to Gladwell, what is the difference among talent, preparation, and opportunity in relation to success. Use one example that Gladwell uses in The Outliers to illustrate the relationship.
The first example mentioned by Gladwell is a man who famous for writing and advancing the computer, Bill Joy. He was just a teenager be called a “no-date nerd” before he went to the University of Michigan and met that huge computer inside the white room. This is his biggest opportunity in his life and changed his life. He was talented in Math so he was able to get into the University of Michigan and further being touch with advanced computer. His talent gave him opportunity. Also he was given the opportunity to rewrite the UNIX; then he was up to the task.
And later the opportunity in the university gave him incredible amount of preparation on the computer. Firstly, the University of Michigan had a very rare time-sharing computer which different from other old fashion card programming computer. It would not take long time to program one case. Secondly, there was a bug inside the computer, so Joy was allowed to stay inside with it as long as he wanted to. He spent days and nights in the computer center to do as much preparation as possible.
His talent led him to get opportunities. Then the opportunities give him chance to preparation. Also he used his talent when he prepared and this made him became better and better inside the area and led him to more chances and then preparations, using of talents and on, and on.
